I am a resident of Moore County. We needed help with a move to Lynchburg, Virginia, where my son had rented an apartment to attend law school. 3 hours away. I called Two Men and a Truck in Sanford and they could not get us on their schedule for 3 weeks and wanted me to send them a picture of every piece of furniture we planned to ship before they could give me a quote. By chance, I looked at the classified section on the back page of The Pilot and saw an Everyday Movers business card. I called and spoke to one of the owners, Jakob. One of the nicest people you will ever meet, other than his partner, whose first name is also Jacob. Go figure. I gave him a brief description of what we planned to move, and he said it would be no problem and gave me a quote on the spot, which I considered very fair and less than I expected. We wanted to move as soon as possible, but he was booked in the mornings during the following week, so he couldn't schedule a move until the afternoon (which we didn't want) so he said I can do it either Saturday or Sunday. I didn't ask for a reference and went with my impression of speaking with Jakob on the phone and how accommodating he was. We agreed on pickup and loading at 8:30 a.m. He offered 7:30, but we have horses and have chores first thing in the morning, so we asked for a later start. Again, Jakob's response was no problem.

 

When I called on the Friday before the move to confirm the Sunday pickup, I told him my wife had added a huge sofa to the list of furniture to move and several other items, and was willing to pay more than the original agreed-upon amount. Jakob said that wasn't necessary, and he thought he could fit everything into his van. I added an extra $100 anyhow.

 

Sorry for the long preamble, but I wanted to set the stage. On the day of move, Jakob and his partner called to tell me they would be at my guest house, where we stored all of the furniture, in approximately 20 minutes, and he arrived right on the agreed-upon time. They were very careful in loading and protecting the delicate items. I might add we had a new 65" TV and a 6-foot standing mirror to be shipped along with everything else. My son and I had a bunch of other incidentals in my farm truck and left about 15 minutes before the movers so we could pick up the key to the new apartment rental. Like clockwork, they arrived 15 minutes behind us. I have probably gone on too long with this review, but I must talk about getting that huge sofa into the third-floor apartment. There was an elevator, but it was too small for the couch to fit in, so they said, we will have to take the stairs. I might add that not once did they complain or show any dissatisfaction. I didn't think they could get it up the stairs and it was a struggle, but by damn they did it.

 

In summary, these two owners are of the highest caliber, and I give them my strongest recommendation. I have even offered to give my phone number to anyone wanting a reference.
